Humanity is on the cusp of going back to the future. Artemis II, a crewed Nasa mission intended to take astronauts around the Moon and which had been due to lift off after February 8, is a reboot of the legendary Apollo lunar programme of the 1960s and 1970s (Artemis is Apollo’s twin sister in Greek mythology).

Hansen is the only crew member venturing into space for the first time. He was selected by the Canadian Space Agency to become an astronaut in 2009, and will be the first Canadian astronaut to join a trip toward the moon.
NASA’s Artemis 2 mission is no mere test flight. The crew will partake in some seriously mind-blowing science during their 10-day trip around the Moon.
